Like New Orleans, Salem was once a place of power that nourished and expanded the powers of Witch Covens worldwide. The Bernauer Coven had made Salem their home since before the Witch Trials and had grown to power there until they were burned out by Hunters. Weakened by the destruction of Salem and driven from what little power remained there, the Coven was nearly demolished. Rather than perish, led by their young but powerful and newly anointed High Priestess, the Coven raced to New Orleans where their strength and power would be replenished.
And while some wish for peace, others have not forgotten the savagery of the Believers that burned them from their ancestral home.
