Yukio, or Yuki, as she went by with her family and friends, was an up and coming author of fantasy books that were bestsellers on the book charts. Even though she was only 25, Yuki had been the author of at least 10 books and had two more in various stages of writing. Then it happened...

Comic Con was supposed to be the ultimate research spot for the new story that was rumbling around in her brain, but that was not to be. There were vampires everywhere but none of them were real ... or so she thought. When two of them blocked her way as she made her way toward the bathroom, she thought a simple "Excuse me," would be enough.

No, they grabbed her and dragged her off into one of the dark, unused rooms that lined the corridor. She didn't have any time to react as she heard a voice hiss in her ear, "You are delectable little one. Just what we need!" Then she felt sharp teeth piercing her neck, ripping into her neck and veins, letting her blood flow out of her body to be replaced with her new life.

From then on, Yukio Hattori, "disappeared" for awhile as she relearned how to live and act. How to be who she had been before with a few new tweaks.
