The Tenebroso Hierarchy

Back to Tenebroso Home

The Tenebroso Dynasty Council is ruled over by both a King and Queen, though either can rule solely depending on the situation. They are advised, checked, and balanced by several other prominent members of the Clan and together they make up the Ruling Council of the Dynasty.  Each member of the Council (save the Financier and Lead Enforcer) have a corresponding pair (i.e. King and Queen, Duke and Duchess, Prince and Princess, Elder and Regent).  Both position holders are required to form a Blood Bond before being sworn into the Tenebroso Council; it a test of loyalty and the Bond allows for fewer chances of subterfuge between members at the same level of power.  (Read more on Bond's here).

King: Marquis
The position allows for complete control over the Dynasty, from the smallest to the largest detail if he should so choose. However, the King is often left without time to oversee every single move the Family makes and will delegate because of the sheer amount of responsibility. This delegation has led to a system of checks and balances in the Council. If the Council (either all or a few prominent members) were against him, he would have little choice but to acquiesce or risk the destabilization of the ruling Council itself.  He can also make a deciding vote if the Council is at an impasse.  They are Bonded to the Queen.

 Queen
Carolina Tenebroso
Co-Ruler of the Dynasty, the Queen's domain is internal politics. Though like all other members she's sworn loyalty to the King, she is not without her own power. She has the power to call Council, veto the King's decisions with proper backing (two Council member's votes), and controls whether or not new members are embraced into the Clan. In the event of the King's incapacitation or death, she can rule as sole leader until another King is jointly chosen by the Council.
They are Bonded to the King.

Elder: Cade Tenebroso
An advisory position with the power to veto decisions (with the backing of two Council members).  They act as adviser and confidante to the King and Queen on all Clan matters.  The Elder oversees not only the condition of the Tenebroso council, but the influence and monetary flow of the territory the Clan inhabits. They can also counterman the decisions of the King and Queen with a veto, provided they have the backing of at least one other Council member.
They are Bonded to the Regent.

Regent: Shadow Conn LeSombre Tenebroso
As one of two councilors to the King and Queen, the Regent shares the same power level with the Elder.  They can also counterman the decisions of the King and Queen with a veto, provided they have the backing of at least two other Council members.  The Regent oversees the entire European Territories; they answer directly to her and he/she conveys the information to the Dynasty Council.
They are Bonded to the Elder.

Prince: Joost van Dousen Tenebroso

The Prince of the Clan, once being voted into the position, is expected to become it's next King, the chosen male to lead the Clan once the King steps down or is taken down.  The Prince is charged with keeping the Tenebroso Clan from fracturing at the base level and across the entire Dynasty; essentially they are to establish loyalty within and control over the Clan in preparation for becoming King and are given tasks periodically by members of the Council to test them. The Prince is chosen by the Council as a whole.  They are Bonded to the Princess.

Princess: Lillith Tenebroso
The chosen female to lead the Clan once the Queen either steps down or is taken down, the Princess' domain is internal Clan politics.  They are responsible for keeping the Clan from fracturing in preparation for the King's and their own rise to power.  She is given tasks periodically by members of the Council to test her. The Princess is chosen by the Council as a whole.
They are Bonded to the Prince.

Duke:
OPEN

The Dynasty's Duke is trained to become the Elder or Regent once the Prince and Princess ascend to the throne so that the new ruling couple will ascend with its own council in place. They acts as an adviser to the Prince and Princess and are trained under the current Elder or the next likely council member. The position is filled by the Regent's choice of vampire. They are Bonded to the Duchess.

Duchess:
OPEN
The Dynasty's Duchess is trained to become the Elder or Regent once the Prince and Princess ascend to the throne so that the new ruling couple will ascend with its own council in place. They acts as an adviser to the Prince and Princess and are trained under the current Regent or the next likely council member. The position is filled by the Elder's choice of vampire.  They are Bonded to the Duke.

Lead Enforcer: Cassiel Tenebroso
A highly trained weapon, the Lead Enforcer takes over in any situation involving the safety and defense of the Clan. His/her control is total as it is his/her job to maintain the safety of the Tenebroso Dynasty. They command a small unit of highly trained enforcers, and through them command the Tenebroso armies. The Lead Enforcer is consulted on most if not all operations involving the Family.

Financier: OPEN
He/she would handle all the finances, legal and illegal, within and outside of the Dynasty's personal business ventures. They would act as overseers of the Tenebroso coffers and if they are good, not a penny slips past without them knowing where its going and where it came from.

Royals:  OPEN

Whomever hold's this position represents the concerns of the Royal's within the Dynasty.  Royals hold positions in the Dynasty as being the arbiters of Clan politics, either by being a pawn or a self-appointed leader. Royals are perceived as the new-age, refined vampire free of baser instinct. They mingle freely within the human world and they tend to share a singular distaste of Blackguards. Most are highly respected ladder-climbers with ambitions to one night take a seat in Council - even if they have to scheme and kill to get it.  They have representation in Council, this person is usually of great popularity and influence, and acts as leader of the Royal set.

Blackguards:
OPEN
Whomever holds this position represents the concerns of the Blackguard's within the Dynasty.  Blackguards are the 'meat', so to speak, of the Tenebroso Clan. The base of power for the Tenebroso has always been swamped in bloody violence as a form of control, making the Blackguards the perfect weapon to enforce Tenebroso rule over their territories. Unlike Enforcers, however, Blackguards are highly specialized killers with talents in certain areas rather than general foot soldiers. They lead enforcers into battle as commanders, never as grunts.
Like their counterparts, the Royals, they also tend to share an intense hatred towards them. They revel in their baser instincts and consider themselves 'true' vampires because they never deny what they are.  They have representation in Council, this person is usually the most vicious of younger vampires and has killed any more powerful than themselves to get to the top of the heap.

A Prince is a vampire who controls enough territory in Europe to call it his own.  This includes domain over his own childer, independent vampires.  He or she must keep the hunters at bay and the presence of vampires away from the general public.
The title is sexless, meaning it can be applied to a male or female. (Ex. Prince of France, Prince of Italy, Prince of Portugal, etc.)
