Character Name:

Tessa Dresden

Clan/Cabal:

Outcast

Species:
Human

Personal History:

Outcast.  Is a word that has made up Tessa's life since birth. Though she wasn't the one outcasted but rather the woman who gave birth to her. A name that she, herself, happens to be afraid of whispering. It all started with Naomi Crow.

A mere woman whose Native American features had caught the eye of a vampire. Little did she know the world of trouble she would fall into the moment she realized that such things as vampires existed. That she had become something of an instrument for feeding. A blood doll that would burn her bridges quickly. Oh and how quickly they burned!

She had dared to cross the person that claimed her not just once but multiple times. The last straw being sleeping with another human. A month later she was branded, tattooed, and sent to fend for herself into the night. She had been lucky enough to make it out of San Francisco alive. Though the fact she had found out she was pregnant did not seem to improve her chances. She didn't just have her life to worry about now but the life of the unborn that she carried with her. She had to work harder to conceal her branding.

The day came when her child was born. Naomi thought it wiser for Tessa to have the surname of her father rather than her own. Maybe it could save her child from the crimes she had committed. She would do anything in her power to protect the girl. She watched her child grow.

Tessa was the exact likeness to her mother as a little girl. Though her green eyes were something to behold. The only feature she had received from her father. Naomi knew the girl would grow to look like her and that thought alone scared her. She took to moving them around constantly in fear that they would find her and kill her. Little did she know that she would find that trouble in New Orleans while working the night shift at a bar. Little did she know that someone had followed her after she got off her shift and went home to her child.

Tessa had only been nine when the event occurred. She had awoken to her mother's screaming pleading and begging. She had found herself looking at the crying face of her mother while someone played with her hair and her head rested on their lap. Fearful eyes tried to turn to look but her mother's screams stopped her. A simple, "Close your eyes baby," was said that had Tessa's eyes shutting and the acidic laugh of the being behind her. Her mother's screams taunt her to this day.

That very night Tessa heard her mother's death and opened her eyes to a violent scene. She wasn't allowed to go to the body while she scream and sobbed for Naomi. Instead she was pulled away to be branded and marked as well. A reminder of the punishment that would be worn by any member of her bloodline.

Tessa has lived with that memory ever since that night. The vampire that marked her released her to live on. But even she knows that her death could be at any moment. But even then it doesn't hinder her good mood because, if anything, this has taught her to live her life to the fullest and be happy. She's learn to hide her marking away with ribbons, chokers, and high collared shirts. As much as she hates it she knows it a must now. She understands now why her mother did it for years. But unlike her mother she won't allow this marking to control her life. She still has friends and still works though she won't allow herself to stay too long in one place. But for some reason New Orleans has been calling to her and she's been feeling the uneasy sense of wanting to settle in the heart of Tenebroso territory. That is one name she will never forget.
