Personal History:

Placide is the son of a Houma (American Indian) woman who was born in the New Orleans area. In her late teens, she wanted adventure and moved to South Dakota to learn about the Lakota and to see something more than the bayous. Her family has a great amount of white blood, mostly French, and has adopted Cajun ways as a result of it. While working at Custer State Park, she met a Lakota man, fell in love, and had a child. After the birth of Placide, she found out the love of her life was a liar. He was married. Not only that, but he vanished from the area shortly after her son's birth. Emeline gave her son her own last name and went on with life. In the process, she met another Lakota, a more honorable man, married him and began work on a large family, of which Placide was very much a part of.

After Placide's birth, another secret was discovered. Her lover was a werewolf and Placide had inherited that gift. It was a nightmare for his mother. In the end, she turned to her lover's grandfather from whom she and Placide learned everything there is to know about being a werewolf that they were afraid to ask. He took them under his wing.

Throughout his youth, Placide excelled in tracking and hunting - taught by his grandfather. He breezed through school and attended a 2-year college. What started him on his career as a bounty hunter, was finding out his birth father had been killed by a vampire in Montana. While he'd had no contact with his father and didn't even want any, Placide would do anything for his grandfather so he set out to even the score. He spent a year tracking down the vampire and killing it. In that time, he met a wide variety of people, learned about bounty hunting, and decided to put his talents to the test. It turned out to be a good, but dangerous, way to make money on his own terms.

As Placide had spent several summers with his mother's people in New Orleans, when he got tired of wandering around so much, he decided to make a base there, away from his large family, but yet close to relatives he wished to stay in touch with. In his line of work, he was very cautious to not involve any of his beloved family. Now he has moved into the Garden District of New Orleans.

His first order of business was to set up a small office downtown on the edge of the French Quarter. His second step is to introduce himself to the ruling pack and to make inquiries about joining it. If he's to live in New Orleans, he's going to need to be accepted.
