Character Name:
Lucien Blackburn
Pack:
The Jè-rouge Wolfpack
Hierarchy Position: Beta
Personal History:
Before his turning Lucien was a firefighter in Wyoming. He had been in the thick of a firefight that was pushing all the animals - including the wolves - out of their natural habitats and right into the path of Lucien and his team. Luc was bitten, his abdomen ripped open by a smoke-crazed werewolf and left for dead. When he recovered with little more than faint scarring only days later, people began to whisper. Knowing superstition was strong and often dangerous, Luc packed up and left.
He experienced his first shift a week later, a harrowing experience that broke every bone in his body but left him racing across the landscape as one of the worlds most dangerous predators. Despite the pain the trade-off was worth it.
He spent most of his time in wolf form and the length of time between shifting made every transition more and more painful. Drugs worked for a time to dull the pain, then he turned to alcohol - in copious amounts.
Between the drinking and spending most of his time as a wolf, Luc started to forget he had a human half. Lucien learned the consequences of that the hard way after he woke up in a dingy motel room beside the dead, mangled body of a waitress slash stripper he'd gone home with the night before. He didn't remember anything of the night but her blood was beneath his fingernails and in his mouth. There's no doubt his wolf slaughtered her in his sleep, perceiving the human as an enemy in his den. Lucien only has flashes of the memory, dark dreams that wake him violently, nightly.
Lucien was a lone wolf -literally - before he met Connor Draga. Their meeting was more of a bar brawl. Luc's odd behavior had the town talking. Drunk men and superstition was a dangerous mix and they'd decided that Lucien needed some 'encouragement' to leave town. He started out facing a crowd of angry drunks and ended up fighting the entire bar of drunk humans back-to-back with Connor. The other wolf had been seated in the back, drinking and watching. They recognized each other as wolves, as killers. with the only difference being that Connor didn't give a damn.
A week later Connor approached him about a job, offering pay to back him up with a stash house robbery. Luc figured he owned the other wolf and ended up pushing him out of the way of a shotgun blast that night. When Connor calmly pledged his loyalty and life to Lucien's, they became brothers in bond if not in blood.
