Dee Rhosyn is Welsh for 'Dark Rose', a spin off the main castle 'Black Rose' for which it is named after. Though nowhere near as huge and grand as her similar named mother castle far across the seas, Dee Rhosyn is still a modern marvel of interior design and architecture in its own right.

Years in the making, under a strictly enforced veil of silence, Dee Rhosyn is now situated nearly at the very center of the 1500 acres it rests in. Located a number of miles outside of New Orleans city limits, deep in the countryside; it is the only US based estate of the Welsh ruler Candace Grenadier, her music band Spiral Dance and now young Donald Writt.

The exterior of the estate does in fact resemble an ancient Welsh keep that had once belonged to the Grenadier family for generations. The original centuries old keep, had been destroyed decades ago, long before the deaths of Candace's parents. Now, in at least a somewhat rhetorical way, it has 'raised' once again to stand in memory of those now past who had given their lives.

Inside the stone structured mansion, each room is a completely different experience spanning from typical 'upper class' modern decor, on to the more fantastic and often breathtaking alluring old world charms and designs found in the homes and castles of the Welsh royalty throughout the ages. With extreme diligence to the smallest of details, Dee Rhosyn stands as a true testament to what can be accomplished when 'old world' building standards meet and combine fluidly with more 'modern' ones.

Boasting a few indoor pools, indoor atrium's and gardens, a full music studio plus other amenities, Dee Rhosyn has a room or area for just about every mood or mindset that graces her halls and byways. No matter the hour of day or night, the five level stone mansion has something to offer pretty much anyone that enters her.

Tucked away in various areas inside are small studies, a few small libraries, sitting rooms and casual comforting fireplaces throughout the mansion. Stunning staircases lead to each level and each hall on every level boasts a different theme and decor as is found with each separate room.

There are 15 suite like bedrooms scattered on the top three floors of the mansion, each with its own private bathroom. Each bedroom locks with not only a typical 'key', but also a carefully concealed electronic identity pad and keycard if so desired by the room's occupant.

The biggest kitchen rests on the main entry floor; though two smaller less elaborate ones can be found on the second and third upper levels to accommodate the late night and often-erratic lifestyles of the Bard and her band.

Descending into the two lower levels, one finds themselves being transported into a very different aspect of the Bard's mentality and the darker side of her

duties as well as gifts. Here it becomes clear that there is a much darker side to the beautiful Bard. One, which she accepts about herself as easily as she accepts the lighter aspects.

Elaborate, oddly alluring and beautiful, the two lower levels of the mansion harbor a very distinctive and far darker sensation that seems to reverberate through the very stone itself. Somehow, though, as with the lighter designed upper three levels; a sense of calm and peace still is amazingly perpetuated. The two lower levels seem too silently demand that a different type of clarity of the mind be discovered, and embraced; if one is to remain there for any extended period of time.

Each sublevel room is an enticing treat to the senses of those fully accepting of the darker side of sentient consciousness. The dark silent beauty is a true testament of how the Bards as a whole fully understood that with the 'Light', so resided its equally powerful and just as seductive 'darker twin sister'. The Bards, such as Candace though also understand that, that darkness also harbors its own way a distinctive and often stunning beauty as well. Just because something was of darker nature, certainly did not mean it had to be the least bit ugly!

Outside, stone and well-maintained dirt paths wind gracefully throughout various types of gardens and stands of trees. Small pools with koi fish, lush vegetation and waterfalls are subtly lit with carefully concealed 'mood lights' that enhance the many hidden and tucked away 'treasures'. Quite a few of these areas are also adorned with rare flowers that bloom only at night. So, whether one walks in them during day, or at late at night, the gardens and silent paths have something for all.

Other buildings include an elaborately set up state of the art music studio only a few dozen yards from the main mansion. A large stone stables, a few matching livestock buildings and numerous green houses can be found as well.

Towards the very back of the property, referred to jestingly as 'the back forty' by both the resident staff and Candace; rests an old cemetery surrounded by a tall and imposing black wrought iron fence with a solitary locking double gate. The cemetery, under Candace's orders, was fully restored too its once former original glory along with the cemetery keeper cottage. The cemetery also boasts a captivating and now fully reconstructed small sized mausoleum.

However, the cottage remains for now vacant. This is mostly due too the fact that a well aged classic Louisiana cypress swamp sits directly on the opposite side of the maintained cemetery! Riddled with rather large gators and a copious variety of snakes, the Bard is quite hesitant to be putting anyone into the cottage for now.

Overall, Dee Rhosyn Estate is definitely a place to see.

The massive plantation home of Cade and Shadow Tenebroso sits on over 1,000 acres of marsh and woodland, 45 minutes outside of New Orleans and nearer the bayou.  The secluded former sugar cane plantation is far back from the main roads.  It is fronted by a majestic quarter-mile canopy of giant live oak trees that form an avenue leading to the classic Greek-revival style antebellum home.
